Yogesh Nandurkar

Founder

Yogesh is trained as a Chartered Accountant and, at the beginning of his career, wanted to specialise in International Business & Mergers. On the verge of receiving the degree, Yogesh, the committed family member he is, chose duty to his family business over personal ambitions. After gaining a 5-year experience in Business Management and Accounting, he joined Rasik Sahitya in August 1998.

  • In 2000, he assumed the editorship of the literary magazine Sahitya Suchi.
  • In 2001, he got the status of Rasik Sahitya, a Partnership firm that changed into a Private Limited company.
  •  He proposed that the company obtain ISO certification to formalise and streamline processes in the company.

In 2001, Rasik Wachan Yojana, the library, was decentralised into four centres in Pune and Nandurkar by 2005, it had expanded to up to 30 centres throughout Pune, Mumbai, Ahmednagar, Miraj, Belgaum and Vadodara.

Pioneering Work

  • In 2002, he launched the first ever website for the sale of Marathi books.
  • In 2003, to deal with the impermanence of ‘Book Exhibitions’ at exhibition halls, he changed the layout and floor space of the Rasik Sahitya book shop from a counter system to a display system – the first Marathi book store to do so.
  • He started the first “Library on Wheels” in Marathi Literaray world.

In 2004, to commemorate the fortieth year in business…

  • He restructured and formalised an authorised dealers’ network throughout and around Maharashtra and neighbouring areas.
  • He initiated a multi-language book exhibition project in Pune to represent and bring together literature from 22 Indian languages on a single platform, broadening the scope for Rasik Sahitya. With the help of Marathi literature stalwarts, this exhibition was organized and enjoyed instant success!

He established the publishing house ‘Rasik Antarbharati’ with the aim of publishing books in various Indian languages. Under the aegis of Sahitya Samanway, he hopes this drive will reach the national and international level and will bridge the gap between stakeholders from the literary industries of Marathi and other Indian languages.

Sahayogi

Though conceived in 2004, Sahitya Samanvay survived in exile for 13 years and came into being launched as a literary consultancy firm, Sahayogi, established in April 2017. Since its conception, Sahayogi has been diligently working for the last five years with an urge to provide quality and diverse work.
